Konstantin Fehrenbach announces the election of Ebert, 1919
The President of the National Assembly, the Zentrum deputy Constantin Fehrenbach, announces the poll result and declares Friedrich Ebert to new president. Since there is no new constitution yet, Ebert can not be sworn in until 21 August. On the first bench sits Ebert, on the second the Center Party deputy Matthias Erzberger. Erzberger campaigns for the acceptance of the peace treaty. Reinhardt sits next to Erzberger
