The landing corps Emden on the Cocos Islands, 1914

After the Australian cruiser Sydney sunk the cruiser Emden, a landing department remained in the Cocos Islands to destroy the wireless station that was located there. Under the command of the first officer of the Emden, Captain Lieutenant Muecke, they took over the English schooner Ayesha (in the background.)
