About 2500 Germans and Austrians living in England are taken by the Wilhelm Gustloff on their first official trip from Tilbury outside the three-mile limit, to can participate in the Reichstag elections and the referendum on the annexation of Austria. During this day trip people are offered entertainment, food and beer, at the expense of the German government On the ship mast a photographer takes pictures of the people dancing on the deck.
