Laying out of Duke Alfred of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha in Coburg

The coffin of Duke Alfred of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, who died on July 30, 1900, was laid out in front of the altar of the town church of St. Moriz in Coburg before the funeral on August 4. On the right and left stands the guard of honour for the deceased, in front of whose coffin lie his numerous medals on cushions and in front of them wreaths of flowers. The photograph was taken by the Coburg court photographer Eduard Uhlenhuth
