Laying of the foundation stone for new Reichsbank building
On May 5, 1934, the cornerstone was laid for the house on Werderscher Markt, which served as an extension to the Reichsbank. A crowd of people saluting Hitler attends the event, including sections of Nazi organizations such as the Hitler Youth and the Bund Deutscher Madel (left in the picture). The Deutschlandlied is being played. Two round, raised platforms have been erected especially for the picture and film press. Adolf Hitler and Hjalmar Schacht were present at the ceremony
