Lou Andreas-Salome, 1897
Lou Andreas-Salome (far right, 1861-1937) in a summerhouse in Wolfratshausen with Frieda von Buelow, Rainer Maria Rilke and August Endell (left to right). She was a friend of Nietzsche for a short time, in 1887 she married the orientalist F.K. Andreas and was a close confidant of Rilke, with whom she undertook two trips to Russia. In 1911 she gets in touch with Freud and Adler at the Vienna Circle of the psychoanalysts
