Mangtower at the harbour of Lindau, around 1900

Ships are moored in Lindau harbour in front of the Mangturm, which was formerly used as a lighthouse. One of the passenger ships in the harbour is the SD Helvetia III'. Hotels have established themselves on the lake promenade, including the Hotel Bayerischer Hof (left) and the Hotel Reutemann (centre) directly next to Johannes Thomann's Gasthof zur Helvetia. The undated photograph, probably taken around 1900, comes from the art dealer Georg Stuffler in Munich
