Martin Luther's abduction, 1521
After he refused to revoke his theses at the Diet of Worms, Martin Luther was given the Reichsacht (imperial ban). On the way back to Wittenberg, Frederick III, Elector of Saxony had Luther abducted and taken to the Wartburg, where Luther translated the Bible
