: Meeting between Benito Mussolini and King Victor Emmanuel

Meeting between Benito Mussolini and King Victor Emmanuel

The King of Italy, Victor Emmanuel III. (center), met publicly with Benito Mussolini on November 4, 1922. The King had appointed him as the new Prime Minister at the end of October, after the latter had previously threatened a coup d'@tat through his March on Rome'. Next to them are some ministers of the new government: Aldo Finzi (Secretary of State for the Interior, left), probably Gabriello Carnazza (Minister of Public Works, right) and Grand Admiral Paolo Thaon di Revel (Minister of the Navy, far right)
