Message center of the German police in Kuestrin, 1945

A German policeman directs traffic in Kostrzyn. To his left is a dugout serving as a message center, that was made splinterproof with an iron door. The policeman wears a helmet of Czechoslovak origin, possibly from old stocks remained after the crushing of the remainder of Czechoslovakia in 1939
