Michel de Montaigne

Michel Eyquem, Seigneur de Montaigne, French, writer and philosopher. He was born in Chateau de Montaigne (now Saint-Michel-de-Montaigne in the Dordogne department) on 28.2.1533, he died on 13.9.1592. He was a lawyer, Counsellor of the Parliament between 1557-70 and mayor of Bordeaux between 1582-86. His wrote down his reflections on philosophy, history, politics, literature in his essays (1580 [94 Chapter], final edition [107 Chapter] 1595)
