Military airship Z I before the start, 1909

The ground crew of the German military airship Z I holds the gondola in position before the start. After the former civilian Zeppelin Airship LZ 3 was partially destroyed on 14.12.1907 at the downfall of the Reichsschwimmhalle, ran around 4400 km till its transfer to the Army. As a section was extended it was transferred to Metz as the military airship Z I on 29.06.1909 and stationed there
