Mobilization in France, 1938

Chamberlain regagne Londres ce matin apres avoir eu avec le Fuehrer un entretien nocturne qui s'est prolonge trois heures. ('After a nightly meeting with the Fuehrer, Chamberlain returns to London.') Chamberlain had met with Hitler in Bad Godesberg in order to convey to him the English, French, and Czechoslovak consent on the cession of the Sudeten German territories. At the same time, an international guarantee for the independence of Czechoslovakia was expected. The Godesberg Memorandum was followed on 30 September by the Munich Agreement
