A German and a Dutchman with the adopted names Damanusari (middle) and Nyanatiloka (right) founded the first Buddhist monastery in Europe at Lugano in Switzerland. The monk left, Silacara professes to be a Bhikkhu of strictest observance, however he does not belong to the monastery yet
