War memorial on the occasion of the French reclamation of Alsace-Lorraine after the First World War in Compiugne. A fallen eagle lying on the ground (German Reich) is pierced by a sword (France). The inscription reads: Aux heroiques soldats de France defenseurs de la patrie et du droit glorieux liberateurs de l'Alsace et de la Lorraine (For the heroic French soldiers, defenders of the fatherland and the law, glorious liberators of Alsace-Lorraine)
