On the morning of 24 June 1922 Foreign Minister Walther Rathenau was assassinated in Berlin-Grunewald on the way to the Foreign Office by members of the far-right organization Consul (OC). The image shows onlookers at the scene of the attack, which took place in the Koenigsallee at the corner of Wallotstrasse. The cross marked the place where in the direction of the arrow Rathenau's car was intersected by the car of the assassins
