The murdered Wilhelm Roetters, 1920s
This 9-year-old pupil named Wilhelm Roetters was murdered by a Belgian occupation soldier while playing with friends. Here his corpse, adorned with branches and leaves, in a church during the mourning ceremony, the bullet wound is visible on his forehead (undated photo)
