Benito Mussolini (in the tribune on the right) gave a speech to soldiers and the inhabitants of Littoria (now Latina) in Piazza del Popolo on 27 October 1941, the anniversary of the March on Rome'. In the speech he promised three thousand peasants and war veterans land and fields from the reclamation of the Pontine Marshes. On the left of the square is the town hall
