Benito Mussolini (center) gave a speech to his supporters standing in Piazza Venezia in Rome in 1936. The faade of Palazzo Venezia is draped with a cloth adorned with two lictor bundles and a tapestry depicting the Roman she-wolf and the inscription Stet capitolium fulgens [May the Capitol stand radiant]. To Mussolini's right are three representatives of the Nazi regime from Germany. Before the speech Mussolini had awarded some students who had fought in the Abyssinian War
