Naval exercises with submarines, 1939
During a maneuver of the Kriegsmarine the aviso Grille and two submarine escorts represent valuable transport ships, which are protected by torpedo boats in a chain barrier. Submarines of the Kriegsmarine have the task to break this chain to be able to attack the Transporter'. The picture was taken from aboard the Erwin Wassner and shows in the keel line, the Saar and in the background the aviso Grille
