The Neumagen Wine Ship, around 220 AD
The Neumagen Wine Ship (Neumagener Weinschiff) is the tomb of a Roman wine merchant. Originally, the tomb consisted of two wine ships, which were used symbolically for the profession of the deceased. This tomb was found in 1878 in Neumagen during excavations of the medieval castle of Konstantin zu Neumagen on the Moselle. Today it is exhibited in the State Museum in Trier
