British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain gives a speech at the meeting of the Birmingham Unionist Association about the occupation of Czechoslovakia by Hitler. He announces that Britain will not surrender. On Hitler's command, the first Slovak Republic was founded in March 1939, and German troops marched into the remaining areas of Bohemia and Moravia
