: Newspaper boy and man, 19th century

Newspaper boy and man, 19th century

Drawing by Schopp. A man asks a newspaper boy to sing the Jungfernkranz song from the opera Der Freischuetz (The Marksman) by Carl Maria von Weber. The boy answers that he could sing it himself. With this he probably refers to the musician and friend of Goethe, Carl Friedrich Zelter, who played this melody in public. Picture undated
