The opening race at the Nuerburgring took place on 19. June 1927. It was organized by ADAC and went through 12 rounds each 283 km at a total distance of 3396 km. At the start: Rudolf Caracciola (1), Adolf Rosenberger (2 / both on a Mercedes-Benz factory cars) and Cavalry Captain von Mosch (3 / Mercedes-Benz private car). Caracciola became the winner with 3 hours 33 minutes 21 seconds, followed by Rosenberger and Mosch
