The Nuremberg Funnel, 1648

The Nuremberg Funnel written by Georg Philipp Harsdoerffer between 1647-1653 attained proverbial meaning. It was intended as a guide in poetry and is still used as a jocular expression when the student learns in a mechanical way. It is also known as Poetic Funnel'. Harsdoerffer founded in 1644 the Nuremberg group of poets and was a member of the Fruitbearing Society
