The Fruitbearing Society or Palm Order was the oldest German literary society. It was founded in 1617 in the old residence of Hornstein in Weimar under the leadership of Ludwig von Anhalt. The members had committed themselves not only to the German language but also to promote all honesty, virtue and courtesy, foreign words have been fought. The so-called Nuremberg Funnel was intended as a guide to poetry and is still used as a jocular expression when the learner adopts a mechanical way to learn the syllabus, after G.P.
