After Leon Trotsky's first refusal to ratify the dictated peace of Brest-Litovsk, which was to mark the end of the First World War in Russia, troops of the so-called Central Powers invaded the country. German-Austrian soldiers occupy Kamianets-Podilskyi, a western Ukrainian town, in order to force the signing of the peace treaty of Ukraine
