Panzerwagen III in Kholm, 1942
A German soldier gets into a Panzerwagen III. During the encirclement battle of Kholm, the Kampfgruppe Scherer successfully defended the town for 105 days. The photo was probably taken after the liberation on 18 May 1942. (PK photo taken by the war correspondent Richard Muck who flew into the pocket at the beginning of March)
