Parade in the Lustgarten in Berlin, around 1790

Under the eyes of the Prussian King Frederick William II (right, sitting on a horse) a parade took place in the Lustgarten. The 1st Battalion of the Life Guards stands in parade formation. Blacks from the Prussian colony of Friedrichsburg (on the left in the picture) are playing with the music corps. To the right of the King are Field Marshal von Mollendorf and the Duke of Brunswick. In the background the Domkirche (Old Berlin Cathedral) can be seen on the left, the Marienkirche in the middle and the Schlossapotheke on the right. Undated drawing, made around 1790
