Partenkirchen and Wetterstein Mountains, around 1895

The photograph shows Garmisch-Partenkirchen (district of Partenkirchen) around the year 1895. The Floriansplatz (center of the picture) is missing the later erected Floriansbrunnen. In the centre of the village is the parish church Maria Himmelfahrt. In the back on the right is the Villa Christina (Schnitzschulstrasse No. 19), built in 1893 by the Mannheim cigar manufacturer Georg Ludwig Mayer-Doss. Behind it one sees the Wetterstein mountains with Hochwanner, Kreuzjoch, Alpspitze, Hollentalspitzen, Zugspitze, Waxenstein (from left to right)
