The photograph shows Garmisch-Partenkirchen (district of Partenkirchen) around the year 1900. In the center of the village is the parish church Maria Himmelfahrt. At the back right is the Villa Christina (Schnitzschulstrasse No. 19, with corner tower), built in 1893 by the Mannheim cigar manufacturer Georg Ludwig Mayer-Doss. Behind it one sees the Wetterstein mountains with Kreuzjoch, Alpspitze, Hollentalspitzen, Zugspitze, Waxenstein (from left to right). Photo from the art publishing house of Max Stuffler from Munich
