Pena Palace in Lisbon, 1931
View of Pena Palace on a mountain (Palacio Nacional da Pena), built under Dom Fernando II (1816 - 1885) for his wife Queen Dona Maria II. The architect Wilhelm Baron from Eschwege used Romantic, Gothic, Moorish, Manueline, Indian and Baroque elements in the Palace. The Kings seldom lived in the palace because it was too windy and foggy. From the platform one can see a beautiful view of Lisbon, the Serra de Sintra, Sintra and the Colares area
