Piggery of the NSV in Berlin, 1936
Entrance of the experimental pig farm of the National Socialist People's Welfare Organization (NSV) established by the local group Arkona in the Koloniestrasse in Berlin. An employee with apron and cap carries a large basket on his shoulder while walking through the entrance gate with the logos of the NSV and the Ernaehrungshilfswerks des Deutschen Volkes (food relief organization of the German people) (EHW). The EHW, an organization of the NSV, was assigned the task to collect kitchen and food waste from urban households and companies, unused till then, to use it as pig fattening in the agriculture and had built for this purpose several pigsties.
