Pilot training of the Reichswehr, 1920s

Reichswehr soldiers during flight maneuvers with a glider at the Bornstedt field near Potsdam. Since the Versailles Treaty prohibited motorized flight the Reichswehr command sought to preserve the idea of an air force over time through the use of gliders.
