Police officers lead away war veterans who wanted to participate at a demonstration in Washington. The man in the middle who is pulled away by two policemen is Nathan Kolb from New York City. The veterans of the so-called Bonus Expeditionary Force had fought in the First World War and demonstrated during the Great Depression for the payment of the so-called bonus, a special allowance allocated to the veterans for their military service
