Polish Navy patrol in Gdansk, 1931
This photograph shows a Polish sailor patrol in Gdansk. There were disputes between the Free City Government of Gdansk and the Polish government over the appearance of Polish military patrols in Gdansk. Then Gdansk complained to the League Commissioner and the Council of the League of Nations. The patrols continued and the Gdansk government was even obliged to engage police officers for protection
