When the French occupied the Rhineland, a wave of indignation went through Germany. Artists also protested against the occupation, just like the painter Arthur Kampf. This drawing by him shows a Ruhr miner, who was obviously hit by a French whip on the face. This poster was used to collect donations for the victims
