Queen Elizabeth and Queen Mary, 1940
The sister ships Queen Elizabeth (r.) and Queen Mary (l.) in the harbor of New York. The two Cunard liners had been brought to New York to protect them from the danger of German submarine attacks. Later both ships served as troop ships for the Royal Navy
