Reception for Prince Paul of Yugoslavia, 1939

Parade on the occasion of the visit of Prince Paul of Yugoslavia on 02.06.1939 along the East-West Axis in Berlin (today: Unter den Linden - Strasse des 17. Juni - Ernst-Reuter-Platz - Bismarckstrasse). At that time Prince Paul was Regent of Yugoslavia, as King Peter II was a minor. On the invitation of Hitler he spent nine days in Berlin. This is the last parade, held before the outbreak of the Second World War. The picture shows the reception of the Prince Regent on 01.06.1939. Infantry soldiers of the Wehrmacht march through the Brandenburg Gate. Date created: 01.06.1939
