Recovery of the remains of the expedition team of Salomon An

The Swedish engineer and Arctic explorer Salomon August Andree (1854-1897) and his team attempted to cross the North Pole from Spitsbergen in their balloon Eagle'. They started on 11. July 1897. The participants of the expedition were missing, however, until one found remains northeast of Spitsbergen, including diaries and photographs in 1930. The picture shows the three wooden boxes containing the mortal remains of the former balloon pioneers on the deck of the Braavaag on the way back to Sweden
