Recovery of a snowed-in provision bomb, 1942
Two German soldiers recover a provision bomb in the snowed-in and encircled Kholm. During the encirclement battle of Kholm, the Kampfgruppe Scherer successfully defended the town for 105 days. In order to defend the city, the German Luftwaffe dropped daily provisions bombs with ammunition, food and equipment.
