Recruiting campaign of the US Army in New York, 1941

Two American soldiers present a new poster with which the American Air Force canvasses for military service. The poster was designed by Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Woodburn. On the poster is a bald-headed eagle, the symbolic animal of America, next to fighter planes. Above it and under it stand the slogans Wings over America and Be a flying cadet in the U.S. Army'. The soldiers are on Governor's Island, a base of the Coast Guard. In the background is the skyline of New York
