Recruits of the Wehrmacht make oath in the Lustgarten in Potsdam, which was read by Major Graf Schwerin. In the background the Garrison Church can be seen. From each of the recruit departments 5 men had stepped out with an officer and take the oath. It was the first swearing-in since the introduction of the two-year compulsory service
