American jeeps park in front of the portal of the destroyed Reich Chancellery in Wilhelmstrasse. On the left, a part of the old Radziwill Palais, originally the official residence of the Chancellor. In the center, the extension from the Weimar Republic (1929/30), which Albert Speer had burst in 1938, in order to gain access to the main courtyard of the New Reich Chancellery
