The bull sacrifice is an illustration from the Roman cult of Mithras. The bull-sacrifice lends immortality to the ones accepted into the community, and was therefore particularly important for the spreading in the Roman Empire by the legionaries. This photograph shows a stone found in an excavation site in Heddernheim near Wiesbaden, depicting a bull sacrifice
