A Chinese temple, modeled after the Golden Temple of Jehol (Chengde) was built at the World Exhibition in Chicago. The Pavilion is a gift from the millionaire and industrialist Vincent Bendix. The temple was built in China, divided into about 28, 000 individual parts and transported by boat to Chicago
