Return of prisoners of war in Dieppe, 1942
During the Operation Jubilee in Dieppe in August 1942, the German Reich succeeded in taking numerous prisoners of war. The picture shows a French prisoner of war who, apparently because of his impeccable conduct during the British invasion, is being reunited with his family a month after the invasion. The release of the prisoners of war, who are at home in Dieppe and the surrounding area, was arranged by Hitler
