Revolutionary Club in Paris, 1848

Constituent meeting of the Revolutionary Club chaired by the politician Barbes on 8 April 1848 in Paris. After the Paris Workers Revolution of 1848, many political clubs arose that sought to improve the circumstances of the working class. For women, participation was only possible in this revolutionary club. They were only allowed to participate in the gallery (top right), but published their own magazine, the Voice of Woman'. On the wall in the background the slogan of the revolution: Liberte, egalite, Fraternite
