The Saar is German before the Hamburg-America Line, 1935

The passenger steamer Deutschland of the Hamburg - Amerika Line arrived in Cuxhaven with 358 Saar Germans from America who came to participate in the referendum on the annexation of the Saar region to the German Reich. At the landing pier they are received by National Socialist organizations. The picture shows the people of Saarland with their association banner ('The Saar is German!'), American national flags and swastika flags
