Schlossfreiheit in Berlin, around 1885
This photograph by Friedrich Albert Schwartz, taken around 1885, shows the Schlossfreiheit at the Berlin Palace in Berlin-Mitte. The houses were later demolished for the construction of the Kaiser Wilhelm National Monument. The houses contain various shops, including (from right to left): Photographische Gesellschaft, Nicolai Marosoff, Brillen Adolph Heilmann, R. Schneevogl, a bookshop and the Tapeten-Fabrik Adolph Burchardt
